Why War & Cheese?

I have been asked this quite a lot. Is it because I’m a blood thirsty, war loving, cheese munching deviant? Erm, not always….
But here is what the story behind War and Cheese is. Don’t worry, It’s not so long as the inspiration for the name; War and Peace, by Leo Tolstoy.

I have been asked this quite a lot. Is it because I’m a blood thirsty, war loving, cheese munching deviant? Erm, not always….

But here is what the story behind War and Cheese is. Don’t worry, It’s not nearly as long as the inspiration for the name; War and Peace, by Leo Tolstoy.

Before becoming a food writer and blogger, I was a journalist. And my area of interest was crime and war. Added to this is my never ending love affair with books. And of course Cheese. After a lot of deliberation, with choices ranging from things like TikkaChikka, to LettuceEat and of course, my sister’s super intelligent suggestion of FreakShow, I still couldn’t shake of the appeal of my three loves coming together in this name.

So as a lover of books, cheese and erm, war, War and Cheese it had to be.
